The program covers training on various BFSI sector specific job roles such as Mutual Fund Distributors, Business Correspondent- Business Facilitator, Insurance Agents or any other BFSI sector specific job roles. The Company also imparts the training pertaining to other sectors such as Health, Hospitality, Retail, Travel or any other sector which require skilled workforce.
The comprehensive training modules to be used for sector specific training.
Mutual Fund Distributors training program is based on NISM’s Series V-A module while BC-BF Operations training program is developed on the basis of IIBF’s curriculum.
The program gives the opportunity to the candidates to earn additional income along with their current work / activity.
In case of BC-BF Operations training, the program is named as “NSDL Certificate Course in BC-BF Operations (Artha SAMARTH)”.
In case of Mutual Fund Distributors training, the program is named as “NSDL Certificate Course in Mutual Fund Distributors (Artha SAMARTH)”.
The Company facilitates the livelihood linkages through employment or self-employment for the beneficiaries post training.
To impart employable and livelihood linked skills to the deserving underprivileged youth and thereby create a skilled workforce in relevant sector.
The beneficiaries are identified and enrolled depending upon the sector and industry demands. The unemployed graduates or post graduates, college drop-outs, graduates/post graduates with prior work experience, youth engaged in informal/unorganized sector, etc. are enrolled in the sector specific training programs.
For BFSI sector specific skills training, NSDL reaches out to graduates/post graduates, self-employed youth in BFSI sector, housewives, self-help groups, unemployed youth, emerging or aspiring entrepreneurs, post office agents, etc. Apart from this, NSDL also reaches out to the different categories of candidates such as low income earning entrepreneurs, IFAs, BCs or CSPs, etc. for imparting BFSI sector specific skills training.
Training programs to be conducted at the strategic locations especially, within the vicinity of NSDL’s regional office/branches namely, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi. The Company also reaches out to the other locations, rural areas and Tier I & II cities for conducting the training sessions depending upon the need. The web based/online training programs are conducted PAN India.
NSDL provides free bed-side Leukocyte Filters and yearly DXA Scan and Cardiac & Liver T2* MRI investigations to underprivileged Thalassemia patients. The use of bed-side Leukocyte Filters helps in reducing Febrile Reaction and thereby decreases allergic reactions during blood transfusions. Moreover, NSDL has been supporting DXA Scan and Cardiac & Liver T2* MRI tests for underprivileged Thalassemia patients to diagnose life threatening risks of iron overload which may cause damage to body parts like the heart, liver, pituitary and pancreas during blood transfusions. The Company to benefit around 310 Thalassemia patients who belong to poor socio-economic background in the current FY.
To support underprivileged Thalassemia patients through preventive and curative measures by providing the essential medical devices and diagnostic services.
Underprivileged Thalassemia Patients from MCGM’s LTMGH (Sion Hospital) and CTC, PHO and BMT Centre, Borivali.
Under this program, NSDL shall provide a complete school kit including stationery items to the underprivileged students from the government schools, government recognized schools, partially aided schools, community schools/centres, schools run by trust/community organizations.
To promote education amongst students from poor socio-economic background, NSDL has launched a mega school kit distribution drive across various locations in India.
The organization to reach out to more than 4600 students under this program. The students from financial weaker sections of the society are targeted.
Eye Screening Camps for community people especially, farmers, salt pan workers and people engaged in allied agricultural sector. Post eye screening camps, the spectacles are provided to the beneficiaries based on their need. This project is being executed in association with Medical Research Foundation which has a clinical unit named as ‘Sankara Nethralaya’ based out of Chennai.
The objective is to conduct eye check-up camps for the saltpan workers and farmers across the state of Tamil Nadu. Post comprehensive eye examination, the beneficiaries are provided with the spectacles for their activities of Daily Living.
Under this initiative, NSDL shall be serving less-privileged community people such as farmers, salt pan workers and people engaged in agricultural allied services. Post camps, the spectacles shall be provided to the beneficiaries based on their need.
NSDL and its subsidiaries shall be sponsoring Mid-Day-Meal for the students in government schools in association with Akshaya Patra Foundation. The schools shall be identified in association with the Akshaya Patra Foundation in and around the vicinity of NSDL’s regional office locations.
The major objective of program is to make nutritious food for children leading to better health status. To develop grasping prowess of children by improving the nutrition level, to enhance the enrolment of children in schools and encouraging needy children, belonging to disadvantaged sections, to attend school more regularly and help them concentrate on classroom activities.
The organization caters to the students from government schools. Around 2500+ students shall be provided with mid-day-meals in identified schools of Thane and Bengaluru.
This program endeavours to bridge the gap between bright students and the right education by providing financial support in the form of scholarships. Through this program, NSDL intends to provide financial assistance to deserving bright students who lack adequate financial resources to cope up with their academic studies.
NSDL SHIKSHA SAHYOG is an educational scholarship program initiated with the aim to support underprivileged bright students who lack adequate financial resources to cope up with their academic studies. A lot of capable students often fail to fulfil their dreams for studies due to poor financial conditions. The need for scholarships is compelling and critical for our students more than ever before.
The deserving students are identified and shortlisted as per scholarship categories based on eligibility criteria. The scholarships are awarded to deserving students in different categories such as 8th to 12th STD, Undergraduate, Post Graduate students who are shortlisted as per the eligibility criteria. Apart from this, NSDL provides scholarship to the students pursuing degree & PG degree courses in engineering, medical, IT, management, vocational courses and professional course. The needy students who fall under respective academic categories are awarded with the scholarship provided they fulfil the program eligibility criteria.
‘Health’ being one of the core CSR areas, NSDL has initiated Project Sanjeevani- Mobile Medical Unit which is a clinic on wheels serving the most vulnerable communities by providing preventive, curative and diagnostic healthcare services. The project shall be implemented in the urban as well as rural areas based on community need and health profiling.
Health care system is one of the basic requirements of every community. Most of the slum areas in our country, till date, are with poor health infrastructure. The Mobile medical unit is gradually proving to be instrumental in addressing the needs of slum areas, particularly for low-income and marginalized populations. By running mobile health units, NSDL strives to ensure better access and timely help to the needy at their doorstep.
Through mobile medical unit, NSDL shall provide need based primary healthcare services in the underprivileged communities by adopting the approach of multi-stakeholders engagement.
The Mobile Medical Unit is equipped with the state-of-the-art diagnostic and curative facilities with team of doctors, lab technician and pharmacists.
NSDL believes that Project Sanjeevani shall be a successful model for providing primary health care services within the deserving communities. Project Sanjeevani shall be executed in association with SBI Foundation.
Through Project Sanjeevani, NSDL shall reach out to the urban, semi-urban and rural pockets to serve the local community people especially from lower socio-economic background. The project envisages to serve approx. 20,000 beneficiaries (i.e. direct and indirect) through each deployed MMU.
Mobile Medical Units to be deployed in Mumbai and its suburbs & Thane (Maharashtra), Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh) and Baksa (Assam). Hardoi and Baksa are one of the aspirational districts declared by NITI Ayog.
NSDL has been conducting various skill development programs in BFSI sector for the youth who have potentials to serve the sector through employment or self-employment mode. The skill development programs are carried out by NSDL under its flagship project, ‘Artha SAMARTH’. Through this project, NSDL imparts BFSI sector skills such as BC-BF, Mutual Fund Distributors, Insurance Agents, Banking Operations, etc. followed by livelihood linkages for the trained candidates.
Aligning to the existing Artha SAMARTH program, NSDL has initiated a special skill development and employability program for Persons with Disabilities (PwD). Project SAMEIP (i.e. SBI Foundation and Microsoft India Employability Initiative for Persons with Disabilities) is a collaborative initiative of SBI Foundation and Microsoft India. The project to be executed in association with SBI Foundation (SBIF).
PwDs shall be trained on BFSI and IT sector specific job roles/skills with the help of specialized trainers and industry experts.
NSDL to empower PwDs by enabling livelihood through skill development and to promote PwD inclusion amongst employers of India.

The project will create career pathways for 375 youth with disabilities in the BFSI and IT sector across Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The project will also provide employment linkages as well as post placement retention support post training.
Mini Science Centre (MSC) is an educative, innovative and systemic facility designed to revolutionize science & math’s education that makes learning simpler and accessible. It is a catalytic channel that is interactive, engaging & fun way of learning technique aimed to raise awareness, grasp the information & strengthen the aptitude of students. Moreover, MSC supports the teachers in teaching - with a focus on concepts from science & mathematics.
Education being the core CSR area, NSDL has been implementing various programs/initiatives to strengthen the educational eco- system and strives to provide quality education to all irrespective of the socio-economic status of the students. Mini Science Centre (MSC) is one of such initiatives which supports and encourages the students to develop aptitude & skills. Science activities are done to stimulate curiosity, provide practical opportunities to explore a concept in easy ways and develop appropriate hands-on experience in understanding science and its concepts.
MSC facilitates the enhancement of aptitude of students by making learning accessible to all. The project objectives are-
The government recognized schools providing primary and secondary education are tapped for this project. MSC helps to improve teaching methods for students from lesser privileged sections of society. It also enhances a positive attitude, learning capacity and skill sets of students. As a pilot phase, the project was executed in Andhra Education Society’s High School, Wadala, Mumbai covering around 1700+ students.
